SUMMARY:Udall Scholarship Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Please join WSU graduate\, Udall Scholar\, and current Tribal History Preservation Assistant with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe\, Emma Johnson\, along with the WSU Distinguished Scholarships Program to learn more about the Udall scholarship (due March 2\, 2021) and the application process for this award. In 2021\, the Udall Foundation anticipates awarding 60 scholarships nationwide of up to $7\,000 each\, for sophomores and juniors in one of three distinct areas. \nStudents must be U.S. citizens and fall into one of these categories: \n\nA Native American or Alaska Native student who has demonstrated commitment to careers related to tribal public policy\, including fields related to tribal sovereignty\, tribal governance\, tribal law\, Native American education\, Native American justice\, natural resource management\, cultural preservation and revitalization\, Native American economic development\, and other areas affecting Native American communities.\nA Native American or Alaska Native student who has demonstrated commitment to careers related to Native health care\, including health care administration\, social work\, medicine\, dentistry\, counseling\, and research into health conditions affecting Native American communities\, and other related fields.\nA student with a demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment\, including policy\, engineering\, science\, education\, urban planning and renewal\, business\, health\, justice\, economics\, and other related fields.
