Distinguished Scholars Gallery

Located on the ground level of the Compton Union Building (CUB) under the Bookie and next to the CUB’s entrance to Terrell Library, the Distinguished Scholars Gallery spans three walls. It features photos of many of WSU’s nearly 350 award recipients going back to 1907, and the names of all awardees organized by award name.

The purpose of the gallery is twofold. First, it is meant to honor the initiative and effort of WSU’s distinguished award recipients and the WSU faculty and staff members who served as their mentors or references. Second, and no less important, it is intended to inspire new students to imagine that they too could become a distinguished scholar. In keeping with this vision, the gallery is the site at which our annual Distinguished Scholars Celebration event is hosted.
