WSU Undergraduate Education Distinguished Scholarships Program


The following workshops are offered to help prospective applicants build their eligibility for a distinguished scholarship. All freshmen through graduate students and alumni are welcome at these events. Unless otherwise indicated, the duration of our workshops is one hour.

Unless otherwise indicated, locations are as follows:

  • Pullman: Smith CUE 507
  • All other campuses: Workshops are available via Skype for Business. please email at least 24 hours prior to the event.

Introduction to Distinguished Scholarships

In our interactive introductory workshops, you will get acquainted with several nationally-competitive scholarships available to WSU students. We will explain how many of these scholarships require that you be endorsed by WSU, so attending some of our later workshops is mandatory for students interested in these awards—plus there are WSU deadlines to meet.

The Gilman workshop introduces this scholarship for studying abroad to students and explores how to submit competitive scholarship application.

Goldwater/STEM Students

Goldwater awards are given to college juniors and seniors who intend to pursue research careers in math, the natural sciences, or engineering. All students interested in applying this year must attend one of the Goldwater workshops.

Graduate Fellowships

Workshops in this series cover the basics and specifics of how to apply for graduate fellowships, including strategies to help you put your application in the best light and even individualized guidance. Some of these workshops may ask you to come prepared with drafts of application components.
